Most of time people associate room diffusers with essential oils - but did you know fragrance oils can also be used as a flameless option to scent your home?
Many fragrance oils are made with essential oils, plus synthetic properties to make the scent smell more like what it's intended to - for example, you wouldn't be able to find an essential oil that smells like coffee cake; however, fragrance oils are able to be altered to create a scent that smells just like it.
Mali + Casey Candle Co. has a couple of flameless options to help scent your home (and car), like wax melts, room sprays, reed diffusers, and car diffusers. Another great option is our home fragrance oils. These are highly concentrated oils that can be added to an electric diffuser or even a wax melter (instead of wax melts). You can even use a few drops on a vacuum filter or home air filters.
One of the most popular diffusers is a fine mist diffuser, a machine that mixes water with fragrance oils and disperses fragrance into the air through the mist. There are several mist diffusers available on the market - with prices starting around $10. While each diffuser is different, we recommend checking the manual to how to use the system. Generally speaking, they work in the same way:
Fill the reservoir with distilled water. Most include a "max fill" line.
Add a few drops of fragrance oil to the water. Our home fragrance oils are highly concentrated, so you may only need a few drops (you can always add more later).
Plug in the diffuser and place it in a secure location out of reach of children and pets.
Refer to your manual for operating the system.
Using fragrances in a diffuser, melter, or filter is a quick and easy way to make your home smell amazing!
Note: Our home fragrance oils are NOT compatible with our car diffusers and are only intended to be used in misting diffusers.
